Herb marinated onions

Even though there is 1 tbsp of salt called for in the recipe, the onions are not salty, because You rinse it shortly after salting. The salt just makes onions soft and tender.
Ingredients
- 1 kg onions, peeled and cut into rings
- 2 tsp mixture of dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, marjoram, thyme, rosemary)
- 1 tbsp salt
- 50 ml red wine vinegar
1) Sprinkle the salt over onion (1 tablespoon of salt), stir and set aside for 30 minutes. Rinse under cold running water. Let them drain well.
2) Transfer the onions into a jar or deep bowl with a lid, add the herbs and vinegar. Mix well and place in fridge at least for 2 hours to marinate (preferably overnight).
Serve with any kind of meat. It goes incredibly well with different types of kebabs.
Onions can be stored in fridge up to 3 days.
